I was over the moon when I got the news of becoming the ICON 2013. This award function, which was held at the Janpath Hotel in New Delhi, coincided with the 10th Anniversary of Parwaz Express, a National Weekly Hindi Newspaper running its office from Delhi. The evening was also dedicated to Indian Cinema for its completion of its 100 years of entertainment to the people.
The Parwaz Media Group is an organisation dedicated for the betterment of the
Nation and is a dedicated media group working for more than
a decade now. There are several sub-groups under this group. Some of the
services that this Media House provides are the Parwaz Express, an Urdu daily
newspaper and also a National Weekly Newspaper, Parwaz Media Vision, Film
Production House Kitab Broadcasting Services Pvt.Ltd., viz. Kitab TV and its
wings are the Urdu Press Club, the World Human Rights Protection Association
and the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence
Award Foundation.
The Parwaz Media Group focuses on every kind of social,
artistic, economic and scientific programmes with a patriotic perspective in an
entertaining and engaging manner. Recently, the Parwaz Media Group has
completed 150 conferences all across the country. And the National Hindi Weekly
Newspaper, Parwaz Express has completed 10 years.
Mr. Shamim A. Khan is the Chairman of the
Parwaz Media Group and he is a recipient of several prestigious awards; The
Shaheed Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Association Award, International Human Rights
Protection Association Award, International Media Foundation Award and more.
On the very same day, a special edition of the paper was also launched with most of the pages dedicated to all the ICONS of 2013.
I was awarded the ICON 2013 for my
contribution to media and entertainment for more than two decades now. Former
Union Minister, Hon'ble Shri Nagmani and the Mayor of South Delhi, Smt. Savita
Gupta gave away the award; a crown, a sash, a certificate and a trophy in the presence of a galaxy of
distinguised personalities. I am honoured by the gesture and extreme faith the
Parwar Media Group has shown towards me!I am one amongst the 100 other ICONs
from diverse fields across the nation who have been awarded the ICON 2013.
Now, as an ICON, my responsibilities towards the nation and the world has gone up manifolds!
